Eric Colville: Guestbook
Claudia
June 20, 2009
Hi Eric,
You helped me out a lot the other day, right before noon! I kept wondering why you looked familiar...then your name...how do I know that name!?!?! When I was back at work it clicked. I saw you play several times a while back and even bought a CD, only to loan it out, never to be returned... I appreciate great
music and even greater lyrics which you clearly have mastered after exploring your website. Your songs will be the newest additions to my Ipod and I look forward to walking with you (songs) on Crane's all summer.
Keep weaving that special magic you do so well.

Just wanted to give a shout re: your "Afraid to Dance" CD. I have been listening to the CD in my magical mini-van (they could steal the tires on that thing, just don't steal the CD player! but I digress). Anyway, the first full listen I was like "real good". The second listen I was like "damn...that sh&*^ is real good". Third time........."why isn't
this sh(*&^ on the radio?". Kudos dude, you are a fierce songwriter. Marvelous music.....as a musician I know the work and toil that went into it, but as a listener it is smooth as silk.
(p.s. favorite cut is "View from Above"....lyric content hits me heavy)

It was great to hear your band at the Grog in Newburyport on Friday. Nothing like hearing good live, original music. Looking forward to the next gig.

Eric, it s not often I hear a band do all original music and I like every bit of it,but you accomplished just that. As I said to you that night, "don t take this as an insult, but it s great to hear a band play at a decent decibal level!" Great time !

Eric, a great performace last Friday. The band sounded great. Haven't had a chance to visit The Grog in years. A great venue for music worth revisiting.

Eric - SO glad we were able to make the Grog show. Had a wonderful time. Love the music & the stage banter made us all feel like we were special guests of the band. Love the CDs we took home, but mostly can't wait to catch another show. You've got some new groupies! ;)

Eric, hoped to view something about your band on Utube- I think that would be fun and also give you more publicity if you put yourself out there- Viewed some clips from other bands and cover bands thought- Gee Eric should post his band playing

Hey, we really missed seeing you at the reunion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had a blast - hope you were able to check out the pictures. Saw that Carol Baker checked in with you - I hadn't seen her in a million years - it was so good to see everybody.
Checked out your upcoming calendar - we were in Boston the week of the 21st of June but didn't know where you were then. I see you are going to be at the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge soon - my husband went to Cambridge High and Latin - I guess now it's Cambridge Rindge Latin? Anyway, he knows EXACTLY where that lounge is. He took me on quite the tour of Boston when we were there - through Cambridge, South Boston (we walked around a fort on the harbor - can't remember the name), places he hadn't shown me already. I could LIVE in Quincy Market/Fanueil Hall! (and I can say that after having been there already several times:)
Anyways, so sorry you couldn't get down but hopefully we will see you at the next one!

Wish I could have seen you at the Coral Shores reunion last weekend. It was a blast to see the old classmates and get back into the Keys mode for awhile.
I ran across our old prom photo while refreshing my memory on names and faces before the reunion - what a flashback.
Best of luck to you.

Dear Eric --
Everyone here at the Audio Style team loves your music!! We actually fight over who gets it next:-) (I put it on my iPod so I don't have to stand in line).

I just listened to "doers lament." You're a lyrical genius. It got me moving. I loved it. I want more and the check is in the mail. I done did it as the rednecks in town would say. I would barf, but it's me sayin it. That should make it worse.....ok it DOES. But I can't help it. I've tried not to let the bumpkin rub off on me, but even when I'm joking there it is. Dang. Dang I did it again.
I'll write a letter with the check.

I sent a girlfriend your link. She's a music enthusiast and she wrote me this and you can take it to heart when she says:
I went to Eric Colville's link and has song is fantastic. He only got
runner up and there isn't anywhere to vote for him anymore. I don't see a
book. I certainly will write in his book and GUSH if I can find it. He's
gotta have a myspace page! His song is HIGHLY marketable. His voice is all
the things a sensual male voice should be, weak in the knees kind of
voice. If he wrote that song he can write more great songs. Plus, the song
is about a guy who admits he could have been WRONG, now how sexy is
that??????
******************
What more can be said? She's gushing. Just wait til she gets here and actually gets to say what she considers to be gushing...

I've been trying to figure out what it is about your music that has me hooked. I don't usually try and analyze why I like a certain artist or why I don't, but when one musician's "stuff" gets inside my head and then I find myself wanting to share it with anyone who'll listen, I realize it must be something special. ~ Thank you so much for extending your hello to me & introducing your music to my little world. You simply have an incredible gift for songwriting. Poetic gems sung with a soulful, gentle voice - then add gorgeous guitarwork. I'm not just being kind, I've fallen in love with your music! ~ One song, "Remember to Forget", has every single heartfelt missing-you thought that there is. I can relate to every one of them.... wishing I didn't ... but thankful someone gave me a song to sing along with that makes it okay that I do. ~ Whatever you do, don't stop making music. What you create is simply too precious. ~ Maggie

Hey - the CD "Five" has just been added to the internet radio station www.harrisradio.com. This is generally no big deal but I recommend that you check out this station - the guy who runs it - Pete Harris - seems like a interesting guy who really believes in good and intelligent music. He also has a wry sense of humor and I think you'll find his site interesting reading. Requests for songs can be made on the "feedback page."

Melody is worth all the hardships through which you go
It wakes you in the morning
And comforts you at nite
It is your sanctuary
It is your friend
It is the deepest part of you
If there is ever a time when something is thought impossible
Melody lives to prove this wrong
Believe in your music
Believe in yourself
Believe that melody will bring you
To your heart's deepest desires
If you are not strong enough
To believe at this time
Rest assured that somewhere
Music is believeing for you
